Katie Jane,
You keep posting and there is sure to be others headed for Prime at the same time who will chime in . . . I personally have several friends I made while at the "Prime Orientation" . . . be sure to look up or search for the many "diary" type of threads other Primers have posted so you have a good idea of what's in store for you . . . AND do the High Road Trucker course and get your CDL-A permit before you arrive in Springfield . . . you'll be glad you did . . .
Good luck . . .

Hey Katie,
I'm in my 2nd week of TNT training with Prime and have really liked it so far. No company is perfect but this one is a very good one. Most of the drivers I talk to are quite happy with their situation. If you can get your CDL permit before you come to orientation. It will make your first week of jumping thru the hoops less stressful, and believe me it can be a bit stressful. I'd also not be in a super rush to find a PSD trainer. I'd suggest trying to spend a few days on the training pad and getting a feel for the backing procedures. It sometimes hard to get much backing practice on the road. When you do find a trainer spend some time talking with them and getting a feel for how and why they train. Don't just let them choose you, be involved. Good luck and I hope all goes well for you.

Prime Inc has a CDL training program and the first phase is referred to as PSD. You'll get your permit and then 10,000 miles of on the road instruction.
Prime’s PSD begins with you obtaining your CDL permit. Then you’ll go on the road with a certified CDL instructor for no less than 75 hours of one-on-one behind the wheel training. After training, you’ll return to Prime’s corporate headquarters in Springfield, Missouri, for final CDL state testing and your CDL license.
Prime Inc has their own CDL training program and it's divided into two phases - PSD and TNT.
The PSD (Prime Student Driver) phase is where you'll get your permit and then go on the road for 10,000 miles with a trainer. When you come back you'll get your CDL license and enter the TNT phase.
The TNT phase is the second phase of training where you'll go on the road with an experienced driver for 30,000 miles of team driving. You'll receive 14¢ per mile ($700 per week guaranteed) during this phase. Once you're finished with TNT training you will be assigned a truck to run solo.
When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
Thank you both very very much !!!!! Ive been working on the online training through here, Just to kinda get a little prepared . you were both very very helpful , thank both so much!

Smart move there Katie. I took full advantage of the online training program trucking truth offered. It helped a tremendous amount. I managed to pass my states CDL permit exam with a 97 first time out.
Good luck with the process and training!😊

Hi Katie!
I'm excited to hear you're going in March, I will be too hopefully!
I turn 21 on March 26th so I'm aiming to go as soon as possible. Prime is the company I widdled it down to, they have great pay and a pet policy, and because I don't know much about trucks the long training doesn't bother me. Not to mention how they do the tuition.
Let me give you a couple links that I found to be amazingly helpful in finding out what'll be like, in case you haven't found these jewels yet :3
TruckingTruth Prime Training Diary TruckerMikes First Solo Run
Also check out the company sponsor list, they have the specs of all the great companies including Prime, and a review of what they think about it.
When in March are you aiming to go? Maybe we'll be lucky enough to go through it together! :3 I'm heading to my local DMV here in a minute to pick up a cdl manual and ask them about obtaining a permit.
And Jopa here is right, the only crime you can commit on this site is not asking enough questions! Lol. Personally I'm not sure about some of the details about the permit but that's why I'm headed down there.
Oh and here's my forum where I asked lots of things. Maybe some of your answers will be here too! =^w^=
Good luck, and definitely keep in touch with me!!
