Regarding the reimbursement issue, please tell me who told you we would not reimburse you unless you removed your comments. If that is something that happened then that is something I will bring to the business owners' attention and make sure it gets resolved. That is not something we do and not something I will let slide. You were told you would be reimbursed up to the cost of a bus ticket for coming out here so that is what we will do.

I like that statement right there. That is a good start.

One of my concerns right now is this:

I asked Charles:

Charles, did you get a copy of the contract before you left for their facility or did you see it for the first time after arriving there?

Charles said:

Lobos would not give me the contract prior to arriving. I asked for it. The only time it was available was on March 01 after the short orientation.

That would not be doing business in good faith. Right now I don't know Charles, nor do I know anyone at Lobos, so that's why I'm asking if this is true. And if it is, then why?

Mr Lobos is adamant:

You were told you would be reimbursed up to the cost of a bus ticket for coming out here so that is what we will do.

Well, git-er-done! A simple matter of sending $179 to Mr Charles.

As for that contract, suppose a guy just out of the Army, 23 years old, gets the contract. How long do you give him to go through it?

No non-lawyer can go through that thing in 30 minutes or even 2 hours and understand it!

A lawyer can understand boilerplate (you have enough to build a battle ship) and it still would take him all day.

You have five contracts and three powers of attorney in your packet. Do you have a Notary on staff to certify the signatures? If not, you just have some pretty paper!

That's fine Lobos. I would like to be reimbursed immediately. I called Monday at 12:07pm and the gentleman I spoke with said I had to delete all my reviews to be reimbursed. I tried calling earlier today and I cannot reach your office. I also tried calling from another phone and emailed you. It seems as if Im getting quicker responses posting on this forum than calling you? You have my phone number. I will give you my adress tommorow. I'm getting sick and tired of posting on this site regarding my travel reimbursement money.

You mentioned that you would reimburse up to the cost of bus ticket? Call me tommorow please? I want to move on with my life.

We make no attempt to hide the fact that there is a contract to sign and if you are not willing to sign the contract then you will need to make your own way home. If you're not prepared to do that and you can't afford to pay your own way back then PLEASE do not come out for orientation.

Ok let me try to explain this as clearly as I can, and I welcome your reasonable response to this:

1. You apparently do not allow prospective students to see and review the contract prior to coming to orientation.

2. Many (if not most) of the people who come to you are desperate, naive, new to the industry and/or unable to acquire employment at a typical company for various reasons. Most probably do not even understand the difference between company drivers and owner/operators.

When you combine these two facts, it gives us the impression that your company is preying on these people, drawing them to you without giving them all the facts, then making it difficult or even impossible for them to leave.

It's easy to say don't come to orientation if you're not willing to sign our contract, but when you dangle dollar signs in front of desperate people's eyes without giving them all the relevant and necessary information, you know full well what is going to happen.

The simple solution is to be totally upfront and transparent with everyone, and email them the contract well before they depart for your facility so that they can in fact get the legal advice you recommend they get.

If your company is unwilling to do that, the other solution would be to just pay the return trip costs for those who decline to sign the contract, since as I said before, they came to you in good faith and only declined as a result of your concealment of the full terms of employment until after they arrived.

Either one of these two options would go a long way towards reestablishing your credibility. But I have a feeling your company would be opposed to both, because they would severely undermine the predator/prey business model which seems to be Lobos' strategy, based on what we've been able to ascertain so far.

So can you please respond directly to these points?

And while I'm posting, I need to ask this: why on earth do you have a TEN THOUSAND DOLLAR termination fee??? Ten thousand dollars, for what appears to be minimal training (if you can even call it that) and filing a few documents. That's well above what all the other carriers charge for several months of one-on-one training. How do you justify that?

If someone started a GoFundMe for him, I'd contribute as well...

There MUST be a DECENT Attorney in the State of Utah that would be willing to represent these countless individuals who have been "wronged" by this outfit. I have never understood the type of people that are involved in an enterprise with the sole intent of SCREWING people. How they sleep at night, and can face themselves in the mirror is beyond me. Lobos obviously has no intention of running a legitimate business, despite LOBOS A's posts to the contrary. Hey Mr. Lobos A, ask God for forgiveness (He will forgive you), and move on to a legitimate way of making a living.
