^^^^^ This...
It's gone beyond "Greek Tragedy" style melodrama already.
Now Lobos is responsible for a flare-up of aspergers ?
If the stress of this experience (that being, going to an orientation, not signing a contract, and then going home), is enough to throw your life into a downward death spiral - I can't imagine you being able to deal with the day-2-day stresses of truck driving.
There's way more here than meets the eye - and you should take your own advice and stop posting - at least about this topic.
As PC mentioned - with every post you make - you look more and more like a troll/loon, and the moral/emotional support that folks here were willing to offer, has pretty much run it's course.
Rick
Charles it's becoming more and more difficult to see where the truth begins and the fiction takes over with your posts. Between the Lobos threads you posted and the new thread you have on fitness, the ambiguity and absurdity is becoming chronic. Look, I have a family member with Asperger Syndrome so I am highly educated on the subject, and intimately familiar with the affects it has on a person (and family); the medication required, the constant professional counseling, the irrational behavior, etc. Granted there are varying degrees of functionality with Asperger's, but simple stress management is a huge and constant problem for anyone suffering with the Syndrome. Based on that, I for one do not understand how you managed to drive a truck for 2.5 months (per you first Lobos post) without the everyday stress common with this job completely paralyzing your ability to function safely. Case in point, by your admission the lack of travel reimbursement from Lobos caused you to come unglued. This issue pales in comparison to the daily rigors of truck driving. Doesn't add up. So yes with every written word, more questions than answers are revealed regarding your credibility and representation of the facts.
Like others have suggested, it's time that you keep the issues you have with Lobos between you and them. It's no longer relevant or viable to include Trucking Truth in any of your future transactions with Lobos.
Folks, for the sake of everyone's sanity I'm going to delete any posts on this thread until Lobos comes back for future discussions. So for now let's just forget about this one.
Hey guys, I've been told that the reimbursement is being handled. The person taking care of it has been out sick this week so I haven't had a chance to ask him if it's been sent out yet or not but the last I heard on Friday was that it was being sent.
On the contract I got some answers as to why they don't send it out beforehand. Because it is a very long and complex contract they do not want to overwhelm people with a big legal document without being there to explain everything to them when they look at it. I can see both sides to the argument, though, and I'm encouraging them to at least put together a more comprehensive summary contract so that people can see the contract in layman's terms before they head out to the office. I spoke with the new school manager about this and he is putting together a ton of information for various aspects of the school and for new drivers coming in and he really wants to put together better videos to explain the contract as well. The idea being that these videos would be available to anyone coming in so they could get the explanation before they get on a bus/plane/car. As I have the time I will try to put together a contract FAQ as well so that even if people aren't getting a copy of the contract they're at least getting the information IN the contract beforehand. I'll try to keep you guys updated as frequently as possible; I'm down to just an hour or two a day now so I don't have as much time to spend on responses as I did, but I will try my best.
Thanks again for all of the constructive feedback and suggestions. I've seen this company come a long way in improving not only their transparency but also the quality of the services they provide. I haven't always agreed with the content, tone, or manner of the posts here but there have been several gems throughout the pages of this thread that really have helped this company improve, so thank you to those who have contributed in its betterment.

Thanks Lobos. I think knowledge of the contract before arriving is prudent, thus adding some assurance you have a serious, committed applicant. Adding a contract FAQ is a good idea and better aligns you with competing companies. Hopefully they will continue to improve once you have completed your assignment with them.
Kudos for the effort.
Appreciate you guys getting back to us about that.
One obvious thing you could recommend is to pay someone's way back home if they decide not to sign the contract. To say "sign the contract or walk home" when they're not going to even get to see the entire contract before showing up is not what anyone would consider a fair business practice. Even with summary videos or condensed versions of the contract they're still not going to get all of the details. You really either have to give them every last detail of the contract before they make the trip out or pay their way home if they choose not to sign. I really can't see a moral middle ground that I would consider a fair business practice.
Keep us updated on any changes you guys make. I would love to see this conversation disappear from this forum as much as you guys would and as soon as we're comfortable with the way you guys are dealing with new recruits I'll be happy to do it. Officially we don't recommend buying or leasing trucks, especially to new drivers, but that's not our concern with you guys. We recommend a ton of companies that offer training and also have leasing programs. No big deal. But the transparency in your process just has to be at a very high level considering the obligations you're asking people to take on.

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
the worst company in the world. I came to lobos as a student trying to get my CDL. The first day they preach "don't listen to the rumors" i should have notice red flags right there. The company is under investigation for mail fraud. everyday I ask what's going on? should I be looking for another job? and everyday they feed me bull**** saying its just rumors don't worry, your in good hands. then one morning I was told the school is shutting down all the rumors were true. me and about 10 other guys were basically dump at a homeless shelter no money to get home and no food, by the grace of God I was able to get my family to buy me a ticket home. by the time I purchased the ticket it was too late I had to sit at the bus station for a whole day, the rest of the guys had to stay in the streets of Utah or at the homeless shelter in Utah the worst mistake I've ever made. Do not work for or with this company.
Lobos Interstate services? They have ads on Craigslist saying if you sign a three month employment contract with them, they will pay for your CDL training. But I can't find out where they do the training or anything about the program.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
Commercial trade, business, movement of goods or money, or transportation from one state to another, regulated by the Federal Department Of Transportation (DOT).

We make no attempt to hide the fact that there is a contract to sign and if you are not willing to sign the contract then you will need to make your own way home. If you're not prepared to do that and you can't afford to pay your own way back then PLEASE do not come out for orientation.Ok let me try to explain this as clearly as I can, and I welcome your reasonable response to this:
1. You apparently do not allow prospective students to see and review the contract prior to coming to orientation.
2. Many (if not most) of the people who come to you are desperate, naive, new to the industry and/or unable to acquire employment at a typical company for various reasons. Most probably do not even understand the difference between company drivers and owner/operators.
When you combine these two facts, it gives us the impression that your company is preying on these people, drawing them to you without giving them all the facts, then making it difficult or even impossible for them to leave.
It's easy to say don't come to orientation if you're not willing to sign our contract, but when you dangle dollar signs in front of desperate people's eyes without giving them all the relevant and necessary information, you know full well what is going to happen.
The simple solution is to be totally upfront and transparent with everyone, and email them the contract well before they depart for your facility so that they can in fact get the legal advice you recommend they get.
If your company is unwilling to do that, the other solution would be to just pay the return trip costs for those who decline to sign the contract, since as I said before, they came to you in good faith and only declined as a result of your concealment of the full terms of employment until after they arrived.
Either one of these two options would go a long way towards reestablishing your credibility. But I have a feeling your company would be opposed to both, because they would severely undermine the predator/prey business model which seems to be Lobos' strategy, based on what we've been able to ascertain so far.
So can you please respond directly to these points?
And while I'm posting, I need to ask this: why on earth do you have a TEN THOUSAND DOLLAR termination fee??? Ten thousand dollars, for what appears to be minimal training (if you can even call it that) and filing a few documents. That's well above what all the other carriers charge for several months of one-on-one training. How do you justify that?
Almost word for word how I would have responded, totally spot on! Couldn't agree more PC.
When I read Lobos' most recent reply I wondered if the respondent has ever read their contract because his points do not align with it and to an extent contradict the contract's language.

Charles, many people have given you advice on the steps you should take (outside of posting here) to help get your situation resolved.
Many have also pointed out that you should just stop posting, and that with every post you make, you lose more and more sympathy and credibility with the members of this forum.
You yourself repeatedly say that you don't want to post anymore, and yet you keep doing it, over... and over... and over again.
We get it. You want your reimbursement, and Lobos had not provided it yet. We don't need daily updates on the lack of progress.
Sorry if I'm coming off as cold, but I mean come on man!
