I would give Prime a look, if i were you. Theres plenty of information regarding people going there if you use the search bar at top, or use the company sponsored training information on this site. From whag I've read from many other people, prime pays pretty decent and is thorough in their training. You do a week or 2 at the terminal to get ur permit. After that you go with a trainer for 10,000 miles that you drive. After that you go to terminal to get your license. Then you must do another 30,000 miles as a team which the miles you, and the person your running teams with, miles count towards total. After that you get sent back to terminal to do your final test to see if you'll be given your own truck. I know they have a 600 or 700 dollar a week salary during training, and pay somewhere in the range of 37 CPM , or 42 CPM if you drive a LW truck. The pay there is definitely better than alot of places. Last i seen CR ENGLAND only offers around 26 and ur required to team.
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
Drivers are often paid by the mile and it's given in cents per mile, or cpm.
A Company-Sponsored Training Program is a school that is owned and operated by a trucking company.
The schooling often requires little or no money up front. Instead of paying up-front tuition you will sign an agreement to work for the company for a specified amount of time after graduation, usually around a year, at a slightly lower rate of pay in order to pay for the training.
If you choose to quit working for the company before your year is up, they will normally require you to pay back a prorated amount of money for the schooling. The amount you pay back will be comparable to what you would have paid if you went to an independently owned school.
Company-sponsored training can be an excellent way to get your career underway if you can't afford the tuition up front for private schooling.
