Truck Drivers With Weapons Permits

Just wanted to ask a quick question if you have a weapons permit or drivers allowed to carry weapons for self protection

If the answer is no what about pepper spray or tasers

I'm thinking this was a dumb question minus all the replies but I was just curious I haven't started school yet so I didn't know the answer that question

99.9% of all companies prohibit firearms on their vehicles. Likewise with shipper and receivers.

So - while FEDERAL LAW does not prohibit personal firearms in a CMV , company policies do. If you get caught - you will be FIRED.

That, and there's the issue of CWP reciprocity between states. My Florida is good except for in the communist territories (the Northeast, Chicago, Cali, etc.).

Even if you are licensed, even if you choose to ignore company policy - you run a severe risk having a pistol in states where you are not reciprocal or worse - illegal.

As far as Pepper Spray - laws on carrying those vary from state to state.

Hi Laura. Unfortunately, I can't answer this for you, since I am still getting ready to start on this journey myself.

Once the people that can answer this for you have the time, as they are either laying down some miles, or resting up for their next set of miles, I'm sure they will reply for you.

You'd be better off as an "MMA Expert". Not to diminish TKD - but, in a real life critical defense situation - unless you're trained specifically to handle them - getting your "mind in gear" - takes longer than you think.

I keep police-grade pepper spray in my vehicles - and usually one on my person (depending on situation). There's many instances where you just can't justify putting a shot into someone. Besides - with the stuff I carry - it's WAY MORE FUN to watch someone after they've got a face-full of it, than to have to go through all the BS that goes along with even a "justified shoot".

I can attest to the fun of watching someone squirm as a result of pepper spray. I did a stint in security and we had a bowling alley as a client and some snotty teens got sprayed one night. After the police and security got out of the public eye they said it was a good call and we all had a good laugh.

The object of a defensive weapon, is to keep a potential attacker far enough away, that they cannot grab/stab/etc. you.

While "martial arts" are nice - by their very nature - they allow an aggressor to get close enough to STRIKE YOU TOO.

First one who gets a good shot in - WINS.
