What if you are so sick you feel it unsafe to drive....What do you do? Does the company still force dispatch or do they have some lenancy?

A guy I went to cdl school with got really sick and checked himself into the hospital Cuz he was really really sick company took the truck and gave him a bus ticket home.. I'm not saying that will happen to you or anyone else he wuz in the hospital for2 weeks.... If you can't Drive safe then don't Drive no load is worth your life or others....

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

If you're too sick to drive you let them know. I'd you're not under a load then they won't give you on until you feel better.

If you are under a load and cannot drive it safely then they'll repower the load, meaning a different driver takes the load from you and delivers it.

You're the captain of your ship and safety is the #1 priority for both you and the company.

Thanks daniel. I have to say I've been stalking this site for a year or so and I a have to say I enjoyed your diaries as also old school, pj, and wine taster. Ps don't let guy know I'm a union member. I have no choice its forced on me...embarrassed.gif
