Your going to need general trucking expeirence before you start doing that type of driving. I got in to low bedding by swamping for a regular lowbed driver. I rode around with him and he tought me all the basics on a single drop, how long have you been driving and what type? I'm sure there are schools with companys like Tersi Trucking in Stockton, Ca. I've rented lowbeds and flatbeds from them, the owner was pretty approachable.

Kenny, I don't know of any specific schools for low-boy or "heavy haul".
I agree with gyppo logger, you will need some experience first, and then you can work your way into this fascinating aspect of the big rigs. It would be best in my opinion to start out in flat-bed type work. There are plenty of flat-bed companies that hire rookies, and yet they also have an over-sized or heavy haul division within the same company that you can move over to after getting your feet wet. TMC does this, and there are probably some others also. Western Express used to do it, but I think they have since stopped doing heavy haul work. There are usually local dirt work or construction contractors who do heavy haul of their own equipment, but usually those will require several years experience first. The best route for you to take is to get into flat-bed first, and then after a year or two start trying to move over into the bigger stuff.
