[Texas] TWIC Card Prior To "in-the-field-job?"

Hello.

According to the TSA Government website (Universal Enrollment Services): You get a reduced fee for the HME / HTAP if you own a valid TWIC card ("If you are currently a TWIC® holder, you may qualify for a full online enrollment at a reduced fee.").

This question is rather silly, but I do NOT want to throw $128 away for nothing! When it mentions your employment/occupation: Does it matter if you are working at a regular 9-5 retail store at the time of applying for the TWIC card?

Thanks!

TWIC:

Transportation Worker Identification Credential

Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.

Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.

Daniel, welcome aboard!

Hey, when I was getting my TWIC card I just put truck driver in that answer because that was the job that I was going to be using the card for. If I remember they asked for an employer name also, and i just put one of the prospective company names there. I think you can also put "self" or "none". The FBI background check did not uncover any falsehood on my application. I think it is merely a way for them to classify which type of transportation worker you are.

Thanks for the answer.

I suppose I will do just that then; Put "truck driver" and "pre-employment/unemployed" for employer.

Thank you, Old School, for the advice.

My T.W.I.C. should arrive via mail within 75 days now. :) Next up: US Passport information (more than likely today in an hour, if not tomorrow).
