CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Jay, Let is know how your test results come out. But since you used the High Road Questions we have an idea what the results will be. (It worked for me, too!)

Jay, Let is know how your test results come out. But since you used the High Road Questions we have an idea what the results will be. (It worked for me, too!)

Testing is Wednesday. I passed general knowledge a couple weeks ago, air brakes and combo vehicles are all I have left. Well, tankers eventually. They don't have tankers but you need the endorsement for liquid tote loads I guess.

I absolutely love that Android App (not advertising; just sayin'!). I play it like 3 hours a day in between working, days off, and running errands (the few I have).

I read the CDL manual quote at the bottom / "TruckingTruth Advice" every time after I answer the question. The only real thing to note on that is: There's quite a few typos in the advice section.. and I seem to have everything down except the "Hazmat" portion. :)

HAZMAT:

Hazardous Materials

Explosive, flammable, poisonous or otherwise potentially dangerous cargo. Large amounts of especially hazardous cargo are required to be placarded under HAZMAT regulations
