Humberto, I am employed by Knight Transportation. I work on a dedicated account for them out of Delhi Louisiana. I have really enjoyed working for them.
For me orientation was about four days at the terminal , and on the fifth day those of us who were going straight into a truck were assigned our trucks and the ones who would be going out with a trainer were put with a trainer. They have a bonus pay system which takes into account several measurements of your performance as a driver - things like fuel mileage, total miles dispatched, safety, and vehicle inspections. If you pay attention to those things and do well you can receive a generous bonus check once a quarter on top of your regular paychecks. It is a pretty decent package once you've figured out how to meet the criteria it calls for.
It's a great company with some great opportunities available for it's drivers.
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
Welcome aboard Humebrto. Please do update us as often as you can on how things progress and how you are liking it at Knight.
Side question... Is there anybody here on TT that drives for Knight out of the Lakeland, FL terminal?
