Congrats!! Roehl is one of the companies I'm looking at as well. Nice to hear that your experience was top notch!
Thank you for all the Roehl school diaries here on the website. These diaries were the main source of information which I used to make my own decision to select a starting point into this industry.
I started Jan 10th in the Roehl school with only a CDL learner permit. Today I have a CDL and finished a 2 week period with an OTR trainer and "Tested out" at their Appleton facility. Officially I am now allowed to drive an 18-wheeler by permit of the Government (CDL-a) and by standard of Roehl - today proven by the test in the "Test Out".
The Roehl experience has been Triple-A. It is fast paced and taught by industry professionals who have only one goal, and that is to help you over the finish line as a successful driver.
Welcome to the Roehl family!!! I have been driving solo for them for almost 3 months. The company isn't perfect but your fellow drivers will always help you if you need it. What fleet are you driving on? I am on the Mondeleze Midwest account. If I can help in any way let me know!
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
Hey there buddy we met today glad to have met ya and I'll see you at one of the terminals again!
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
Yes, One of their recruiters came to our school, Alice Farvour, and gave a pretty straight forward pitch. I am really wanting to drive flat beds and they have training for that in Gary, Indiana. I am hoping it will be an option. I heard the owner still drives. Gotta Love That. Glad to hear positive input from the both of you, Jeffrey T and Jolie R.
