Is Career Tech in Lakeland Florida a good school to get cdl training
Hi and welcome to this great website... I don't think anyone has gone to that school but there is a Search engine at the top of this page... You can try to Search it or you can click here Truck Driving Schools for a list of schools in your area....
CDL:
Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
- Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
- Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
- Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
- Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.
Todd-I'll be going to TDI in Sanford on March 16th. I picked them because they have smaller class sizes and I liked my advisor.

I don't know about them, but I start an 8 week course with Bradford Union Vo-Tech in Starke, FL March 17th. Entire course is just under $2900 and it includes your CDL fee. They are a 3rd party tester and they take the class down to the DMV and they give the DMV a check for everyone's CDL. If you have or want endorsements, you have to pay the extra yourself.
I have a friend whose daughter is going through TDI in Sanford right now. She seems to be enjoying it. 3 weeks and around $6000.
Hopefully someone can give you the lowdown on Career Tech in Lakeland.
