Today i am waiting to take my driving test again. I feel confident at with my pretrip. Skills pad is another story.

I'm new to this sight and also new to the industry. I failed my first road test just the other day the pretrial part was simple but the skills on road part made me nervous as could be I had only had less then 20 hrs practice behind the wheel, with a private driving school at a cost of around 2 k ( knowing what to do easy, actually doing it with a complete stranger not so much) let alone the fact that I'm pretty sure the lady giving the test had never driven a truck let alone posseseda CDL welcome to NYS ( she made me parallel park facing down a hill and used a curved snow bank as the curb) after I messed that up it was downhill. So I could use some help in this area too. The cost for me to schedule another road test (with a hour and a half same day lesson) is around 400$ with this school does that sound reasonable? I don't wanna "rain on the original posters parade but it seems I have a similar scenario.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.
