I don't know how things are in Indy, but down here we didn't get instruction on anything that has to do with pretrip or backing. We got a black and white handout for the pretrip and we had to teach ourselves the backing. There are some students that will help you, but the instructors just sit in their personal vehicles.
All I can say is after reading some of this I am reassured Prime was the right choice.....here are just a couple reminders I have to share when it comes roper-trip....PMS - properly mounted and secured! Make sure every part is PMS CBB - NOT cracked bent or broken! Anything and everything that is metal or hard plastic ABC - NO abrasions bulges or cuts! Anything that is rubber or plastic Make sure if it has liquid or air flowing through it you say NOT leaking. Nail the air break test cause it is the most vital part and will auto fail you if you screw it up....otherwise talk your way through the most vital parts in each section. Backing well my friends that takes practice practice practice and patience. Remember to turn your ateering wheel toward the problem and always go slow steady and easy!!! If I everaster the backing I will share my two cents.....good luck and let's keep these wheels turning!!!!

Today I am going through the Pre Trip inspection list with accompanying photographs along with the shift pattern for double cluthching and the 4 point break test paperwork. In addition to this we given the paperwork to study going over the three backing skills.
The Acronyms I learned for pretrip was:
ABC -there are no Abrashions Buldges or CUTS PMS-- Properly Mounted and Secured CBB= Not Cracked Bent or Broken
Celadon has max on channel 11. Hes on 24-7,going over the correct pre trip scenerio. Its your responsibility to watch it and practice it out back with other students. Since they give most company employees weekends off, makes a great time to get pre trip done. Students need to take some initiative, and be responsible,to get the pre trip down, its pretty much book work. If you have questions, max is always availible mon- friday.

The smartest idea I retained from cre was making students write out the pretrip if they failed their practice test. Not many students failed the actual test after writing the whole scenario out on paper.
