Yeah, what they'll do is simply divide the total miles the truck runs in half and each driver gets paid equally.

The way they'll usually word it is by saying "Teams are paid 42 cents per mile" which means each team member will get 21 cents per mile for all of the miles the truck runs. You will each be paid individually with separate checks and all.

Is that what you were asking?

Yes Brett, thank you. I had looked this up on Google and got a bunch of mixed information. Jennifer

Jennifer, teams can be paid in a few ways, depending on how the team is made up, and depending on how each company does it. If you are teaming with your spouse, you can be paid in one check each pay period. All they do is combine the total miles, and multiple by the amount they pay per mile ( ie. if you run 5000 miles per week as a team, and you get paid .31 cents per mile, you would be paid $1550.00 gross for that week pay period) If your are teaming with someone else, or if you don't want the miles split, each driver would be paid for the miles they have driven in the pay period. You'll see alot more miles running team, and alot of companies put the longer, better runs on teams. But its a personal choice on whether you want to be living in a walk in closet with a person you don't know alot about... I hope this helps....Good Luck !!

I've never heard of that. How would they prove who was driving at what times and how many miles they turned? By the logbooks? You'd have to have everything match perfectly between the books and who would step in to handle disagreements? How would you accurately track paid miles versus hub miles?

Logbook:

A written or electronic record of a driver's duty status which must be maintained at all times. The driver records the amount of time spent driving, on-duty not driving, in the sleeper berth, or off duty. The enforcement of the Hours Of Service Rules (HOS) are based upon the entries put in a driver's logbook.

Brett, I think your right. They would be paid half the mielage amount for all the miles...I guess I didn't think that one thru very well confused.gif .TSB and I teamed for years...but all our money went in the same pot....you know the one...with the big hole in it that drained straight into the mechanic's pocket....embarrassed.gif
