Just finished up the first week of CDL school at TDI in Milton, fl.

Have my permit and we started doing straight line backing on Friday. Next week, we should start on alley docking and learning shifting as well. Might even be able to hit the road.

Looking forward to passing and getting my license and then being able to get to working again.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

If I may, how much is the tuition and do they offer any assistance?

Tuition is 4999 if paying cash; assistance is available but a Co-signer will be needed to secure the loan and that cost is 5999.
