Most third party testing facilities will have a different rate for using their equipment. It's much cheaper than trying to rent one for the day. Plus, you would have to have someone with a current Class A to pick it up and drive it to the testing facility.
Rob is right. Find a 3rd party testing place and they will have a truck to rent.
ours nearby is 200 bucks to rent the truck to test with. Usually they not a full blown semi but enough to pass the test. The place I going to get mine is a Day cab with 6 speed and a 32 ft flat bed trailer to do the test in.
A tractor which does not have a sleeper berth attached to it. Normally used for local routes where drivers go home every night.

32' ? I hope you've had a bit of practice beforehand. That short trailer is going to react quicker to much more subtle steering input while backing. Plus, any mental markers you've made will have to be adjusted. I'm surprised to hear they use anything shorter than 48.

Lived on farm my whole life. Been driving grain truck. just decided I need a get Class A and be ready to start trucking incase my company I working for now gets bought out like the rumors are pointing to.
can't be any worse than backing a jet ski trailer down a boat ramp can it? lol
Also thats what My friend told me when he took it last month it was a 32'. He could have been mistaken could be longer.

With your experience you shouldn't have any problems anyway. I was afraid you were a new new driver just looking to get your license and then try to get hired on. I was gonna be like wow, you're in for a surprise lol.
Thanks for the worries. My Brother has his own Authority now for about 10 years. Had some personal stuff come up and just now getting trucks rolling again. Been wrenching on them about all winter and figured someday I will need it.
Just never have needed it with hauling grain.
Thank you for the posts. Finally finished school, have to wait 3 weeks to test.

I'm curious? Did your school not include the skills test? It seems odd that they would take your money and train you, then leave you high and dry to pay for the skills test separately.
