I have never owned a gps prior to trucking, so the RM730 is my first unit ever. Lots of things about it that I like a lot, I find it to be very user-friendly. It has saved my backside many times already. HOWEVER, the downloaded update has made for some crazy directions, I often have to tell GPS Lady that she's been smokin' crack and figure things out on my own.

I'm afraid RM really dropped the ball on this latest software OS / maps update. It killed my 720. Huge threads online about it. That's why I'm inquiring about the Dezi...
I'll most likely just wait until they clear the code up at RM ... I hope someone was fired over this. They need a new head of SW development.

Although I'm asking about the models listed in the subject, which are the newest incarnations, I actually own the RM 720 unit.
It is currently dead. The latest maps and OS update from the RM dock hopelessly corrupted the unit. On the bright side, one of their techs that has a strong presence at the TR forum, took pity on me for a lack of robust internet access and sent me the files I need on a couple of Micro SD chips. The action has me grateful, but wary about RM releasing such horrible code to the public. Really not even a beta release , in my book.
So I'm looking at other options. The Dezi appears to be the next most popular unit.
Any takers for some comments on either?
