Everyone's in a rush to get 1 car, or truck length ahead of the next guy.... Life's a journey, enjoy the ride!

That sums up traffic on IH-35 (anywhere really) in Austin, Texas during 'rush hour' (bumper-to-bumper).

Maybe it's different being a woman driver, but I gotta say that so far I have encountered so many polite, patient, helpful people out there! A couple of shipper/receiver folks who sort of ignored me is about the worst I've encountered.

Shipper:

The customer who is shipping the freight. This is where the driver will pick up a load and then deliver it to the receiver or consignee.

Swift did some really bad and stupid things a few years ago and thats all people remember. It also does not matter how much you correct them asshats like that never learn. Most of the "super trucks" still think swift starts their drivers at 25 cpm when now its 36 cpm.

just ignore them for the most part, most drivers if you ask a question they will normally answer it in person. On the CB they are experts that have been driving since before they can walk, ignore those drivers.

CPM:

Cents Per Mile

Drivers are often paid by the mile and it's given in cents per mile, or cpm.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.
