the NSA would be so bogged down they would have no choice but to but back on their monitoring?
Ralph, part of my Air Force hitch in 1974 included working inside the NSA. They were bogged down then, and were making plans that made them even more bogged down. Warehouses of secret, unanalyzed data & recordings.
From Atilla:
Thanks for clearing that up. It is a big concern of mine but it also makes sense that if something goes wrong out here both the driver and company are in the same boat.
It's called the Deep Pocket principle. A driver could be watching a soccer game on his tablet, while driving down I-95, stucking on a brewski. If he rear ends a car with a mom & her kids, the trucking company will still have to come up with the $30 million. The driver won't ever see that much money.
So, you have a cell phone, the NSA's personal listening and video device on your body.
Look up the word lists they monitor you for, anytime you say those words they either video record or listen to you via your mobile device.
So, assuming this is 100% accurate and true. If every person were to memorize and integrate these words into every conversation every day, the NSA would be so bogged down they would have no choice but to but back on their monitoring?
Just because they record it, doesn't mean they listen to it till it's pertinent. However, I recently went on a trip, I posted all those words on a list on my gold mining forums as a joke. Now when I fly they test me every time for "bomb making residue" on my hands when going through TSA.

Actually I have worked for mega corps most of my adult life and have seen a few people thrown under the bus. Simple if a company can shift more blame on the driver there is less blame on the company. Which means less of a payout. Unless I read a federal law that states these videos can not be used against a driver in a court of law, I will be highly skeptical. The only people who can really answer my questions are defense attorneys who specialize in this sort of thing. Out of all these post Bud A said it best. We are probly OK if we are awake and not doing anything really bad, then again you can never predict what a court/jury will do.
Atilla, what do you think about the camera being able to help you?
Don't take my post as bashing on you its a duel edged sword as I see it.
I do agree in principal with your concerns in this matter. Though not your knee jerk reaction.

I do belive it can help or hurt. Bud A again said it right, these videos do not always get the context right.
Remember that I am all for dash cams or any camera that shows outside and around the truck. I fully support it, I think those will help truckers and our companies out a lot. In cab is too scetchy, too invasive, and to many problems I see with it. Both for me personally and for the company. The more I think about it the less sense in cabs make to me. I am trying to undestand lol :-P
I just can't understand why you are so stuck on the negative aspect of the camera. Good luck with how you handle this hurdle in your career.
Because of the ****pit voice recorder-we know what happened to the Germanwings plane that crashed in France. I liken the CVR to the in cab camera. It will see things and hear things, that cameras on the outside will not. Just my $.02

I'm not sure just how accurate that list is but there are indeed words used in everyday conversations that will automatically trigger conversations to be recorded. This isn't anything new and has been going on for decades (I can attest to this as a fact because my mother was a Co owner in a company directly responsible for the technology). The fact remains that once those conversations are recorded, software and eventually a person have to determine whether you're giving Aunt Mary's tollhouse cookie recipe or secret instructions on how to make an explosive. It's scary just how much we're monitored every day and don't even realize it, starting with the one thing just about everyone owns, a cell phone.
