Also, just a reminder to Check your King Pin latch to ensure it did'nt get Pulled by some Idiot because it was his day to mess with some one at the truck stop....

tug test every time. honestly i back into my trailer first then tug on it. and i do do it every time i leave the truck and every morning before i start my pre trip.

That's what we're taught (and practice) to do, EVERY day at 7am.

Also if you are in a more shady area if you park your truck then set the trailer breaks then pull on the trailer like you are doing a tug then set the tractor breaks it is impossible for the handle to be pulled with that much weight on the jaws.

granted i still do the tug as in winter you do not want to set trailer breaks and i started driving in winter so half the time i only set the tractor still.

Tug test was a habit I learned in my Schneider days..7.years later it stuck.
