After a bit of a rocky start with Roehl, I like working for them. The rocky start was a mixture of my fleet manager and simply me being new to trucking. I still have the same fleet manager but we have figured out how to work together. My position is that 2 people don't have to like each other to be able to work together professionally.
As far as the time off you are looking for, you might ask Roehl if they have any part-time positions. I'm not sure if they do or not. I don't think they have anything like you ate describing, but things seem to be changing almost daily so who knows!
Thanks Jolie for the feedback. regarding the part time stuff, I've found that pretty much 100% of the time, you wont get what you want if you don't ask. Never hurts to ask, and the worst they can say is no :) so I'll keep on looking if that is the case.
I work for Roehl and I have "met" a couple of Florida drivers in our Roehl driver group on Facebook. I think they like it well enough but I am fairly sure they slip seat. I am not positive, but most of the extended home time plans Roehl has involves slip seating.
The more things I find on TT about Roehl, the more I want to work for them. I tried to get in there, but they won't take me because I live in St. Petersburg (moving to Pinellas Park in 2 weeks). I'm shattered. So how did you all get in?

Fleet Manager:
Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager
The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.
