Hey all as you may know I am out with my trainer and in the early stages of week three! I will upgrade in a couple of weeks hopefully. We have traveled west to east and east to west literally! On this leg of my journey we traveled from Mt Sterling Kentucky (my home state) to the great state of Washington, while here I had the great pleasure of meeting a great mentor and friend, StarCar! It was great to finally sit down and talk with her. She gave me encouragement when I needed it, a shoulder when I needed it and a swift kick in the rump if I needed that too! Star thanks for the homemade jerky (I ate the whole bag) and for treating me to dinner! I hope that I get to meet more people from this forum because without this support I really don't think I would be as successful as I have been. So STAR for all your support and friendship. This will NOT be the last time either only next time Red Gator will have to join us. Special K

Wow, almost done with training? Nice!!! Geez, y'all grow up so fast around here! It seems like yesterday we were teaching you how many wheels are on an 18 wheeler, but now you're out there doin it! And just a few more weeks and you'll be solo. That's awesome!

It's also great you got to meet Starcar! I'm sure she enjoyed it as much as you did.

Looking forward to hearing more from ya! smile.gif

Hehe, yep that's just how fast training is at Central. Way to fast if you ask me but I wouldn't have survived another week with my trainer so I'm kinda glad it was in n out. rofl-2.gif

Congratulations Kathy! Make sure you soak up everything your trainer has to offer! Kathy, are you with a female or male trainer?

Special K is with a really nice "guy" trainer, named Mike. Hes a lease operator, and having met him, I would recommend him for a really good trainer. He goes by the book, and as Kathy sez, makes ya do it to you can. I really enjoyed visiting with Kathy, and like her, I was glad to finally put a face to the name. The jerky WAS good...And I'm glad to provide it to any of the drivers from here, that make it to WA, and give me a heads up, so I can get it made. I promised Kathy that I'd email her the recipe. So if anyone wants my recipe for "oven jerky", just pm me with your email address....and Kathy, i'll need yours...lol. I was shocked at the steps on Mike's truck...its a long way between the first and 2nd step, and Kathy is shorter than me !!! I know I'd have a interesting time crawlin' up those steps, and she makes it look easy !! For all the new drivers out there......stay safe, and try to maintain your sanity...It will all be better soon !!!

I am like you Star it was great to put a face with a name! Daniel wish I had got to see you while you were at the West Valley Terminal but I think I was back at the hotel at the time. Traing is fast here at Central, but I do have a great trainer. We get along very well and I have learned a lot from him. However I am so ready to get the training over with, i love Mike to death but we are starting to get on each others nerves, lol. I hope to meet a bunch of all of you on here in person (including Road Kill and you too Brett). God Bless each one of you!

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
