I always get out of the way of those kind of drivers..... I-40 east or west bound they're always, in a hurry to get home after weekend at the river, or Laughlin Nev.... I'll speed up around the truck, and move over soon as possible so the 100+ mph idiot can get on down the road!

Well.. if this article is true the real #1 idiot above all other drivers in this clip is the Camaro. Driving drunk? Brett should pull the censorship on this site for one sec so I can voice my true opinion. Idiot.. driving drunk is just selfish.

You can take this as a lesson though in defensive driving.. you never know who is drunk and who is sober. Just let idiots pass and get as far away from you as possible.

Four idiots.

How many vehicles in this scene? Four.

Actually five. But the fifth one is a smart guy, the tanker. He backed off, and safely get out of it.

Hahaha I saw this. You can totally see the Tanker just back off and say "I'm out.. you idiots have fun."

According to the article the guy in the Camaro was not only drunk but didn't have a license.

This guy figures if you're going to be an idiot then go all the way with it. Don't just drive like an idiot but do it without a license when you're drunk and cause a massive wreck in the process.

I totally agree on Brett on this one. All 4 had a part in this accident yet the dash cam guy wasnt negligent for the crash it wasn't to bright on his end to be so close. Also you can't really tell if the truck driver made any attempts to slow and let the two biggest morons out of the way. Might be a case for some forensics on the accident. If you notice the pickup has to hard brake many times to keep the same pace as the tractor trailer.

That's why l say pickup guy is worse than all of them. When a mad man comes gesturing at you, do you do the same or try and avoid him. Camaro guy was drunk, driving fast, then pickup moron clearly keeps blocking him, and it does look intentional too.

Wow. Agreed the guy in the Camaro is a jerk. So is the guy in the pickup truck. Dumb just dumb.

The camaro is clearly to blame, but the pickup was just as bad. For one thing, seeing an aggressive driver try to cut in front of him does not make him react defensively and back down, but instead he reacts even MORE aggressively by speeding up and making sure to get in front of him. Then the whole game with the big rig... somehow I get the feeling that even if that truck driver had slowed down to 50, 40, 30, 20, 10, or even come to a complete stop right there on the road, that pickup would have been right there alongside him.

Great Answer!

That big rig should have slowed down immediately and let those clowns go. If the pickup slows down with him, so be it,, but it's highly unlikely. The farther you can get away from them or the slower you're going the better. If you have to pull onto the shoulder and stop while those clowns park on the highway and start duking it out, so be it. Whatever it takes to stay out of the wreck.

The big rig should have slowed down upon seeing that Camaro get out from behind him. He should have noticed how aggressively the Camaro was looking to pass and a red flag should have went off in his head, "Oh man. I have to get as far away from this guy as possible in a hurry."

That's the kind of spacial awareness and mental discipline it takes to do this job safely year in and year out. You have to be able to recognize the potential for dangerous scenarios long before you're actually in any danger. You have to be proactive about keeping yourself away from other vehicles as often as possible and be vigilant about taking nothing for granted.

I used to continuously scan around my vehicle wondering, "What is the most suicidal, ridiculous thing that anyone around me could do right now?" and I'd prepare for it. You wouldn't believe how many times over the years what seemed like an unimaginably stupid thing to do was exactly what happened a few seconds later....and I was ready for it.

Or you'll be watching your mirrors and you can learn to recognize a problem starting to form one tenth of a mile behind you. Long before anyone gets alongside of you you'll know what's probably going to happen and you can prepare for it. Make sure you have an escape and do all you can to keep yourself from ever getting into a bad position in the first place.
