Knowledge Test, Combos Test And Air Brake Test For CDL A Temp License. Virginia.

I know the knowledge test you can only take 3 times without having to go to some class. Are the combos and air brakes test the same or can I take them an unlimited amount of times. ( hopefully I will pass right away but I want to know going in.)
I do not know the exact answer, however!
If you utilize the The High Road program on the site here, and/or the mobile application: I guarantee that you'll only take those tests once, and pass with 100%.

Hours Of Service
HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.
I'm betting that the Virginia DMV can give you the most accurate information regarding their testing if you call them or check on-line. But with that being said, I totally agree with Daniel. The High Roads program on here will prepare you better than anything that I have found to help you pass the CDL testing. I took it and passed the Florida General Knowledge, Combination Vehicles, Air Brakes, Doubles/Triples, Tanker and HazMat all in one sitting.
CDL:
Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
- Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
- Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
- Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
- Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.
HAZMAT:
Hazardous Materials
Explosive, flammable, poisonous or otherwise potentially dangerous cargo. Large amounts of especially hazardous cargo are required to be placarded under HAZMAT regulations
Combination Vehicle:
A vehicle with two separate parts - the power unit (tractor) and the trailer. Tractor-trailers are considered combination vehicles.
Doubles:
Refers to pulling two trailers at the same time, otherwise known as "pups" or "pup trailers" because they're only about 28 feet long. However there are some states that allow doubles that are each 48 feet in length.
Dm:
Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager
The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.DMV:

The state agency that handles everything related to your driver's licences, including testing, issuance, transfers, and revocation.

you canot take any VA DMV test unlimited times without penalty. If you fail any part of it 3 times you have to wait 30 days before you can attempt it again. Also if you fail too many times in VA you will be "black listed" so to speak and no longer be allowed to test for a CDL
