Most of the companies that will hire inexperienced drivers are required by their insurance companies to have a training certificate on file for the new drivers. This is usually going to be the large carriers who are operating over the road. It is often times very difficult, but not impossible to land a local driving job with out over the road experience. There are always exceptions to the rule, but usually your location will determine whether you can land a local job or not as an inexperienced driver.

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
