I am expected to deliver ("No Forced Dispatch to NYC"), to a location in Queens. Has anyone here delivered to a place called Quarex, on Metropolitan Avenue?

I'm sorry but I have not. I suggest utilizing Google Earth to scout and memorize the area and the streets. Do a virtual drive down your route.

GPS NOT authorized. I actually made it. I deliver in the morning. Tomorrow, I pick up in Brooklyn, to take to New Joyzee and Virginia.

BTW, the bridge heights are lacking in acuracy.

No they are not. They are exactly right...for winter time. Those heights are set assuming there is a foot of snow there during the winter time.

Okay. Thanks for the clarification. The receiver told me NOT to worry about the signs. THAT'S when I REALLY began to worry. Today, I begin my escape from New York, by way of "Joyzee."

Company does NOT allow us to use a GPS. In other words...if you get caught using one, you could be fired. It has to do with some GPS devices (including trucker type GPS) and low bridges.

There are a few companies that don't want people using personal GPS units. Navajo is one, but Decker only wants drivers to use the GPS on the Qualcomm , and that comes with a weekly fee of $2, last time I checked. Decker, the Qualcomm GPS is optional. Navajo doesn't offer it, but if I look at my Qualcomm there is a spot for navigation.

Dave

Qualcomm:

Omnitracs (a.k.a. Qualcomm) is a satellite-based messaging system with built-in GPS capabilities built by Qualcomm. It has a small computer screen and keyboard and is tied into the truck’s computer. It allows trucking companies to track where the driver is at, monitor the truck, and send and receive messages with the driver – similar to email.
