I recommend the High Road Training Program. As far as books, your local DMV should have a CDL handbook just like for driver's licenses and such.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
The state agency that handles everything related to your driver's licences, including testing, issuance, transfers, and revocation.
Jordan, do like Jessica said.....use our High Road Training Program. That has the CDL manual built right into the program. It breaks it down into small chunks and gives you a set of multiple choice questions for each section. It's the easiest, most effective way you'll find to learn the materials. Here is how our program breaks down:
To Get Your CDL Permit:
To get your CDL endorsements which are optional but we highly recommend you get:
And two sections we've built ourselves with info you'll need for everyday life on the road but the manual doesn't really cover it:
You can also download a free copy of the CDL Manual from our site if you like.
A pre-trip inspection is a thorough inspection of the truck completed before driving for the first time each day.
Federal and state laws require that drivers inspect their vehicles. Federal and state inspectors also may inspect your vehicles. If they judge a vehicle to be unsafe, they will put it “out of service” until it is repaired.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
A written or electronic record of a driver's duty status which must be maintained at all times. The driver records the amount of time spent driving, on-duty not driving, in the sleeper berth, or off duty. The enforcement of the Hours Of Service Rules (HOS) are based upon the entries put in a driver's logbook.
A vehicle with two separate parts - the power unit (tractor) and the trailer. Tractor-trailers are considered combination vehicles.
Refers to pulling two trailers at the same time, otherwise known as "pups" or "pup trailers" because they're only about 28 feet long. However there are some states that allow doubles that are each 48 feet in length.
I highly recommend the High Roads Training program. I used it regularly. When I started my school I was miles ahead of my class. Took the cdl , tanker and hazmat all at the same time and passed them all In less than 30 minutes DMV chic was blown away. Also, finished top of my class with a GPA of 99 out of possible 100. School owner said in 15 years he's only seen that a couple of times. High Road Training program. Best on the planet.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
Explosive, flammable, poisonous or otherwise potentially dangerous cargo. Large amounts of especially hazardous cargo are required to be placarded under HAZMAT regulations
The state agency that handles everything related to your driver's licences, including testing, issuance, transfers, and revocation.

Hello there I am thinking about getting some CDL books to help me study for the CDL test but the problem with that is most of them are out of date so not sure what CDL book would be good because of that. With that in mind what book would you recommend?
