Has anyone used the Trucker Path Pro app for Android? Or Trucker Tools app? I was wanting to get some reviews for these apps if possible to see how good they are. Also found Trucker Logbook-KeepTruckin app which is Electronic Logbook application. Also I plan on getting Truckers Garmin GPS for truck but does anyone know any good Truck routing apps? I have Verizon which has Verizon Navigator but not sure how reliable it is because I just now started Verizon service. I'm sorry if a post like this was created somewhere else, I think it was, but I couldn't find it.

Logbook:

A written or electronic record of a driver's duty status which must be maintained at all times. The driver records the amount of time spent driving, on-duty not driving, in the sleeper berth, or off duty. The enforcement of the Hours Of Service Rules (HOS) are based upon the entries put in a driver's logbook.

I use smarttruck route. Its $20/month. I look at the route it gives me and then double check for low clearances and restricted routes with the atlas.

You can't always rely on gps, especially if it's not designed for trucks. Even the truck gps app i use had me going through a low clearance route around norfolk va the other day. Always double check your atlas

Do not expect Verizon Navigator to make acceptable truck routes. (I use Google maps for free for general routing.) If you're buying a GPS, start with Rand McNally, who prints the Road Atlas, or Garmin's dēzl series, designed with truck/road redirections included. Most larger trucking companies have a GPS on the trucks already.

I have Trucker Tools and Trucker Path. I hardly use T Tools, but Path is my go-to for finding truck stops. Yes, Path does routing, but I drive by the Qualcomm GPS.

You can also get apps for TA, Flying J, etc., but if course they don't route or show other truck stops.

Qualcomm:

Omnitracs (a.k.a. Qualcomm) is a satellite-based messaging system with built-in GPS capabilities built by Qualcomm. It has a small computer screen and keyboard and is tied into the truck’s computer. It allows trucking companies to track where the driver is at, monitor the truck, and send and receive messages with the driver – similar to email.

Maverick asked,

The Qualcomm GPS is good. At one point the "GPS lady" told me I could not get to a place because there were road restrictions. That kept me out of trouble!

You can poke around on it and find things it can do for you. Add your own address to get you to a Walmart, customize the destination because you know the truck entrance is around back, etc.

The neatest I've found so far is to see all your dispatch points on a map at once. (The truck stop might fit your route better after the second stop, etc.)

Hey Errol, do we have GPS already installed in our trucks when we get upgraded?

The GPS is built in to the Qualcomm. The same robot lady that tells you about a new message also tells you where to go.
