It's official. I leave out of Atlanta Sunday night for Prime, Orientation 7a Tuesday.

I think there are 3 or 4 of us on this site that will be attending classes together, It might be fun to do a 3-way perspective on classes.

Send me an email letting me know if you are going to Prime starting on Sept 3rd

You broke the system...rofl-2.gif

Nahhh, I just found a loop hole and went down the rabbit hole rofl-3.gif

Actually, Brett says he got an idea on how to continue the training to reinforce questions a person had trouble with...so maybe I kinda 'helped' the program.

Who knew ??

I read somewhere you pulled the trigger too and are starting school. Congrats. For some reason I thought you were already driving.

Look forward to reading about your experiences. There are 4 of us TTers that are all starting at Prime on the same day, and I'm hoping we can collaborate on a thread to give a well rounded view of our experience. Maybe you can jump in there too, with your schooling (Schneider was it?) and we can all track our experiences and growth for future truckers to read.

Hey PR, I've been on TT so long, I feel like the oldest rookie in the world..rofl-3.gif Actually I am going to Prime, too..I start orientation on the 5th of November..which I take as a lucky sign..In the UK, November 5 is Guy Fawkes Day..and with my first name being Guy..I don't think it was a coincidence..so I will be following along with your reviews to get all the info about Orientation that I can..I'm at a bit of a disadvantage at the moment, as I live outside of the US, but will have to fly to New Orleans around the 2nd week of October, take my permit test, get all sorts of other personal stuff sorted and THEN jump on the silver dog and trek up to Springfield..if you haven't already, take a look at Google maps and look for Prime's headquarters..pretty impressive..can't wait to start, but now that it's fast becoming a reality, I'm all kinds of nervous..

How To Choose A Company I am a divorced father of two I am trying to decide between Roehl and Schneider. What do you think.

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

Check out this link : https://www.truckingtruth.com/paid-cdl-training/

IT lists several schools that offer company sponsored training and what to expect from them, what they pay, how long the course lasts, etc etc. At the end of the day, you really have to find the program that suits you best.

I drive for Prime, so don't know about the companies you are asking about. though there may be other drivers that can answer specific questions you may have.

Good Luck

Company Sponsored Training:

A Company-Sponsored Training Program is a school that is owned and operated by a trucking company.

The schooling often requires little or no money up front. Instead of paying up-front tuition you will sign an agreement to work for the company for a specified amount of time after graduation, usually around a year, at a slightly lower rate of pay in order to pay for the training.

If you choose to quit working for the company before your year is up, they will normally require you to pay back a prorated amount of money for the schooling. The amount you pay back will be comparable to what you would have paid if you went to an independently owned school.

Company-sponsored training can be an excellent way to get your career underway if you can't afford the tuition up front for private schooling.
