US-93 Between Phoenix And I-40

I'm trying to clear up some confusion, and Google is being about as helpful as Helen Keller as guest conductor of the Boston Symphony.

My GPS and Atlas, both made by Rand McNally (admittedly, the Atlas is a bit old-2011), show the stretch of US-93 running north/south between Phoenix and I-40 in Arizona as not being a truck route. Interstate's routing computer seems to think it is, and I've overheard other drivers talk about using it as the shortest route between Vegas and Phoenix. The only information I can find about truck restrictions are from 2011 or older, and all about the now-bypassed segment across Hoover Dam.

Anybody got the latest poop on 93?

Interstate:

Commercial trade, business, movement of goods or money, or transportation from one state to another, regulated by the Federal Department Of Transportation (DOT).

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

I looked it up and I was on that road about 2 months ago. Nothing really memorable but it was definitely a truck route. The only thing I hated was that there were a million stop lights around the Sun City around near Pheonix.

Cool, thanks. That's always the bugaboo about the old highways, the gazillionty eleven stoplights, stop signs, and musical speed limits. Still beats running all the way out to US-95 in Cali or up I-17.

Oh definitely. The stop lights did get under my skin a bit so I started running them when they were red. If you use enough force the 4-wheelers will move!

I have used that route several times in the past. Other than traffic lights, no issues. It does beat the alternative by a long shot in miles & time.
