Turns out someone in the office screwed up my medical form. My med card had the expiration date of 7-2 while the papers submitted to the bmv had 6-4. Got a late start worrying in that info so I had to try and zip 9 hours to Denver. Get within an hour of Denver and there were at one point 2-3 confirmed tornadoes between me and my stop. So I wait a little bit at a rest area and then press on. Drive though torrential rain and hail (no tornadoes thankfully) and get to the denver pilot where I had to fuel and park. Fueling went fine parking in Denver at 830....nope. Tried a TA a few miles away. Nope, except for a reserved spot. So I'm leaving and Sr two trucks parked on the road. I think better of it and make my way to a flying j.......Nope. So here I am 35 mins of drive time no where to park so I figure, screw it I'm hitting 70 east until I find a place. Drive through MORE rain and hail to the next stop and HEAVENS TO BETSY, THANK GOD!! There were so many shots I was able to pull straight in one. Park for the night, DOT physical tomorrow. Hopefully Celadon gets me taking care of quickly..

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

BMI:

Body mass index (BMI)

BMI is a formula that uses weight and height to estimate body fat. For most people, BMI provides a reasonable estimate of body fat. The BMI's biggest weakness is that it doesn't consider individual factors such as bone or muscle mass. BMI may:

  • Underestimate body fat for older adults or other people with low muscle mass
  • Overestimate body fat for people who are very muscular and physically fit

It's quite common, especially for men, to fall into the "overweight" category if you happen to be stronger than average. If you're pretty strong but in good shape then pay no attention.

Bmv:

Department of Motor Vehicles, Bureau of Motor Vehicles

The state agency that handles everything related to your driver's licences, including testing, issuance, transfers, and revocation.

Denver is tough to find parking. I fueled at Sapp Bros at 5pm and they were full. So I Went To The TA and had to circle the lot till someone left. If I'm going to Denver to shut down I'm usually coming from the north I stop at the Johnsons corner Petro, I've found paking there late at night.

SAP:

Substance Abuse Professional

The Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) is a person who evaluates employees who have violated a DOT drug and alcohol program regulation and makes recommendations concerning education, treatment, follow-up testing, and aftercare.
