I see . Thanks for the info . I'm glad prime lets, you take other routes. But do they pay practical miles or zip to zip?
Prime pays HHG (zip to zip), most companies do.

Oh. Roehl pays practical if anyone asks or was wondering . But id still prefer prime for its 40000 mile training program vs Roehl 1-3 weeks with instructor then they let you loose. I just feel like I have a better chance of safety , longevity and overall just a better professional with the 40,000 mile training.
When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

Roehl is four week in the Roehl School and then 2 weeks with a trainer OTR. After that you go solo but you will keep for 45 days a "Training Dispatcher" for extra hand-holding. Roehl pays from day 1 you enter the school a salary. The school end with your CDL exam; the time with the trainer ends with a route test conducted by a Roehl Instructor. Yes, the program is hard work, but 100s of people make it thru every year and become successful, safe drivers.
I did the school in January; nothing holds me back to fully recommend them, to any new driver.

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

Great! Congrats! And also the first Roehl advocate! Can you shed some light on your average miles , pay (you dont have to if you're not comfortable, but if so are you in the 980 weekly average they advertise?) starting cpm , and are you getting your cpm increases every 3 months like they say on the site? Bonuses ? And what's that my choice about ? How are they treating you as a new driver ? Anything you might like to add? Thank you for your time!

Drivers are often paid by the mile and it's given in cents per mile, or cpm.
I just got hired on with Roehl. I absolutely loved the traing. Very professional and to the point. I meet my trainer tomorrow. But so far everything is going well. I would suggest Roehl from my experience so far. I chose Roehl over prime and schneider for my career. And from things I've heard. I'm glad I chose Roehl. Although all companies have pros and cons, obviously.

Well congrats Mallory ! Did you get your cdl through Roehl or did you already have them? If so what was training like?

Excellent! Go get em!
You should look into the tech school programs in ga. I attended altamaha tech n baxley and it only costs 1500 for a 6.5 week 220 hour course. this included all the costs including dmv and medical and drug test fees. A state grant (available to anyone regardless of income) covered 1000 so I was only out of pocket 500. Then about a month after I graduated the state sent me another check for 500. 6.5 weeks of my time and having to front 500 for a shiny new cdl. thats a no-brainer! This will keep you from being tied to an employment contract or being in debt for school. Just make sure the program is listed as an approved school in the companies your looking at. Good luck!
