I don't have anything to back this up but a failed drug test 3 years ago doesn't sound like a death sentence given that you still got the job and you'll pass the company's drug screening as well (I'm assuming you will). I would advise you to still be up front and honest, you don't want to appear you're hiding something. Good luck!!!
There will certainly be companies that will take you on as long as you don't have any other major blemishes on your driving, criminal, or employment history.
You'll want to be honest with companies because they will find out one way or another. But don't volunteer any information they don't ask for. If they want to know if you've failed a test within the past three years the answer is simply 'no'. You don't have to explain that you failed one prior to the time frame in question. Just answer their questions honestly.
You might have to do some digging around a little but apply for jobs with every company you can find and see who offers you an opportunity. The next five months or so will be the busiest of the year so this would be the time to give it a shot.

First off let me start by saying I have wanted to drive a truck my whole life, and now for the second time I feel the time is right. But as it says in the title I have one problem, I failed a drug test a little over three years ago. You can take it for what you want but honestly it was a big misunderstanding. It was the first drug test I had ever taken and I failed to mention that I had taken an over the counter drug that caused me to fail the test. with all that being said I still got the job I was taking the test for. Now I said for the second time I feel the time is right. Yes I've tried to get a trucking job in the past. I attended Prime's headquarters to take their course. While I was there I was completely honest about that whole situation, which is why I didn't make it through their course. Now after all that I really want to try again at driving a truck but worried that the one mistake in the past is going to mess me up again. Can anyone out there shed some light on the subject and possibly give me some advice before I spend the time and money doing this all over again for nothing.
