Hey there Mountain Girl, just want to send you some encouragement!! I love that you posted this, being aware of your mistakes, the reasons, and looking at all the positivity. I think we all need to think the same way you are. Keep it up!! smile.gif

Back at ya, Allison. Thanks. It's a good company. I love this terminal , even with all its flaws, there's still some really great leadership going on.

It doesn't hurt to be a Philly girl either. Some of the coolest, toughest people come out of PA, ay?

And ...Errol is a cool name. It can stand on its on, without the memory of some dead guy getting in the way. lol.

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

Terry made an incredibly valuable point: that you're propensity to have a second accident, right after an initial accident is very high - which is exactly what happened. I was upset over the first accident and completely forgot about my trailer weight distribution. Horrific.

I think the only way to avoid that is to freaking STOP (your mind), assess what you did, know your lessons learned, forgive yourself, don't ever let it happen again, move on. And for me, moving on is huge. Terry pegged that.

By the way: about the dock supervisor who asked me, "What was I thinking?" when I loaded the trailer too heavily in the nose ... Last Friday, I walked straight up to him on the dock. He tried to walk around me and I stepped back in his way. He said, "Woe." I looked him straight in the eye and said, "I'm really sorry. It'll never happen again." We were cool after that. For me, I have to say it so I can put it behind me ...and so he'll know I'm forthright enough to take responsibility for myself. There must be a certain level of trust between all of us - otherwise we can't work together.

MG, I have a saying I like to use about life "90% of anything you do in life is ATTITUDE"

That goes a long ways to correct issues as they pop up in life.

Stay safe & good luck going forward.

Silly, silly song. lol. I looked up the lyrics. Glad you're doing so well. No ... "roaring" is not exactly my thing; nor is "proving" myself as a woman, but I get what you're saying. lol. It's all good. You're tough. I can tell.

What a name: Helen Ready... IS she? lol.

MG, I think I so connect with this song because I was a teen in the 70's when women were just beginning to see they could do more than be a secretary or wife. I also remember seeing my single mother cry from frustration when she applied for a charge card at K Mart and was told she couldn't get one unless her husband was on the account too....never mind that she had a good job with the federal government and my dad was an alcoholic...the fact he was a man was enough. I am glad to see you posting here again!!!

Iew. Gawd. You are so right. How easily we forget the extreme pressures women were under back then.

I did six loads a day from riverside to fontana. That's one million and a half lbs a week. Always 80 k lbs. Five days a week, Saturday and Sunday were maintenance days. Local driving is a lot more turning and really takes a lot more effort than setting the cruise at 65 and holding on tight. Remember experiance is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted.
