I started this adventure last monday with Prime Inc and had no idea what to expect. Here are a few things Ive learned and hope to help some of the ones headed this way.

First off, on time doesnt mean on time. Be early for everything. Walking in at the last minute will surely get you a lecture and coming late will get you sent home so be early for every bit of orientation.

Second, don't think you are going to breeze through. They cram a lot into the first 3 days so you are going to have to pay attention and study.

Third, stay out from under the canopy on the pad. You are there to study pretrip so practice. I know its hot and the sun is beating down on you but if a trainer rolls through and sees you guys sitting in the shade he will just go right by.

And the final word of wisdom is to be social, make friends, and stay out of your room. Anything you need to practice you can do with others in the social areas, which is usually the smoking area or cafeteria. You do this because trainers are randomly walking through and if you're social you will stand out and end up with a trainer which is a wonderful thing.

I met my trainer saturday night simply because I was social, and because I had friends here I was able to help them out with trainers because we were a group and my trainer called some of his friends. If you just sit in your room and wait for a phone call you'll end up waiting a lot longer than expected. There are 10 people here who have been here 2 weeks or longer now because they just sit in their room and are unsocial. There are also still 40 people from my group who still dont have trainers, so you see how the list will just keep growing and growing. You must be social if you want any shot of getting on the road quickly.

We had a few people from my group get trainers as early as tuesday because they were social the trainer was willing to wait the week to have them in their truck. Im headed out tomorrow morning and wanted to say thankyou to all those on here who helped me start this adventure.

Amen.

Met two guys on the pad and one guy in the laundry room and had my choice of the three before Prime ever had someone call and approach me.
