I have directed newbies as they back their own truck to the dock. (Can't help it: then we discuss how it went)
H.C., I bet you made everybody happy by clearing the log jam. Then you could still talk to Miss Newbie about what you did, if you wanted that teachable moment.
Give her the confidence by spotting for her.
Give her a fish/ teach her to fish........

Have any of you ever put somebody else's truck into a dock for them. Not just be a spotter. When I got back to the warehouse today there was a delivery being made. At least they were trying to make a delivery. When I showed up my guys came out and said that she was late for her appointment and that last time she was there it took her a half hour to get in the dock. So they asked me if I could please back it in for her. Then after that the driver even came over and asked me if I would. She told me it was only her second week and she still was having a hard time. So I didn't think anything of it and got in and docked it for her. Now that I think about it I feel like I was taking valuable learning away from her. Question is have any of you done something like this and if not what would you have done. Backed it in or let her and my warehouse guys sweat it out.
