I quit my job yesterday my wife does not know this yet.
Matthew, I wish you well, but I've got to tell you, that was not a good way to start your fourth try at this. Any good successful married truck driver I know would not keep his wife out of the loop like that. You are going to be needing her support badly out there on the road, and you have already undermined her trust with a serious breach. I'm proud of you for wanting to better yourself to support your family in a more meaningful way, but I can tell you that it is gonna hit the fan when you tell your wife what you have done - what were you thinking?
Well, 3 times I went out on the road and something happened at home with my family being sick. From my sons Bacterial Meningitis that nearly killed him to my wife's Lungs that were so infected that we thought see would pass away in the hospital. Then me,Surgery! Wow!.Now to the present day.I work for the City of Dallas 19.00 an hour not bad.But something is missing, something keeps pushing me back for the road.It wakes me up thinking what am I missing? I am missing out on a dream. My dream no one else's,mine.I worry that my family will get sick again but I cant let that stop me.I quit my job yesterday my wife does not know this yet.Oh $#&*.She is going to kill me.But I hope she will see my Dream. 10-4......
I took your advice,I told her.You are so right.
Let's call this a rocky fourth start. Even the men folk around here can tell you that was a rookie move with the lady. As a lady, I can tell you this would be like a stab to the heart that you didn't trust and include. You're not solo anymore, you have a family, by quitting your job in secret you've thrown their futures into question. You'd better get yourself into training and a truck fast and hope beyond hope that your relationship can handle this blow. This all comes down to the old think before you act. Get rolling!
