I'd go with what your gut tells you. You are questioning going to US Express, leading me to believe that you'd rather not work for them. 40 hours is a short amount of time, compared to however long you may be unhappy at US Express. Also, you may learn something from the refresher course and benefit from it. You've been around this forum for a while, I'm confident you can and will do the research needed. Good luck!!

Hi all,
So US-Xpress is willing to take me on without having to go for a refresher course. Roehl requires a 40 hr refresher. Most companies will probably require the same. Cannot seem to make up my mind coz US-Xpress was not even on my list. My school mentioned them to me. What should I do, go with them or go for a refresher and apply to my list of companies? The do not really have many openings for solo drivers for otr (mainly the west).

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
