You're welcome you guys!
I have read up to the section on securing logs and loved it. It's very similar information to a book on securement I read through when I first started.
It almost certainly is the same information. The Cargo Securement Program was built from the Cargo Securement Handbook by the FMCSA.
I'm going to go through the sections to help you see if there might be any glitches in there, but I just haven't had the time to get started on that little project yet. Too many irons in the fire for the moment, but I will get to it.
I think you should have your daughter put on her pink hard hat and start learning some cargo securement so she can help advise her dad on proper strategies! See if the program works for a newbie!
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
The CSA is a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) initiative to improve large truck and bus safety and ultimately reduce crashes, injuries, and fatalities that are related to commercial motor vehicle
The FMCSA was established within the Department of Transportation on January 1, 2000. Their primary mission is to prevent commercial motor vehicle-related fatalities and injuries.
What Does The FMCSA Do?
A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.
State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.
I'm starting Cargo Securement today and am eternally grateful you've set them up. I'm looking forward to learning this stuff and being the expert on the dock on this subject.
