I reread it again, God really blessed you with a new beginning and your family with having a Dad that still comes home. Im definitely resobered by this. Thank you for sharing this experience and I hope like you someone learns from your experience and does not have to go through the same terror.

Keep truckin and weigh in with your wisdom.

Thank you for the bump.

To be honest, this type of scenario is something that has scared me regarding driver a tractor trailer. I do feel a bit of relief that as I read and the OP described the two routes, I thought, "take the easy route. No-brainer." Hold on. I am not saying that I shouldn't have a big dose of healthy respect for preparation, planning, and understanding what these huge trucks are capable of doing. I am referring to my own sense of being able to say this is the right thing to do at this point in time. I am basically thinking out loud (figuratively not literally). Anyway, humbling and sobering and yet at the same time providing me with confidence that I can do this.

Alright, thanks for reading my little pump-me-up moment.

Guys y'all are welcome. Someday maybe Marc Lee will share, or allow ME to.

Someday, I may share OUR family conundrum.

Stay BLESSED TT world.

Most welcome.

This should be published.

This man bared his sheer soul, to post this. EPIC.

Ps:

Someday I'll share a 'close call' on my guy's behalf. Nothing close, but mind numbing, all the same. Be safe, y'all.

Just WOW.

This story deserves another bump. What a harrowing journey Persian Conversion. God surely had his hand over you on that day. Thank you for being so brave and sharing it. It gives a newbie like me lots to think about, on always remembering to respect the equipment, not being overconfident, not being complacent.

So glad you are still here for your family, and to share your experience with us, so that hopefully we can learn from it.

Thank you so so much.

God Bless.

I remember reading this when it was first posted. And to this day it is a sobering reminder of how bad things can go. I also keep the rule of 2s in my mind, because it is pretty accurate.

Bumping this for education.

It was lumber... I falsely remembered it as logs. Good story.
