I Live In Tampa And PRIMe accepted me without any problem. A couple people in my orientation were from the tampa bay area too. Pay for your cdl if you stay with them for one year. I already have several home every day local jobs I've talked too that will hire me now after going on 8 months driving but prime has done me real right so am going to finish this up. If you want to learn how to drive and make money, come to prime. If your worried about home time and days off do not come to prime. You'll get miles for sure if your always early for your appointments and dont hit anything. I have other things I enjoy doing so want to be home more is the only reason I'll leave prime. I wish we had a dedicated route in florida
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
A driver or carrier who transports cargo between regular, prescribed routes. Normally it means a driver will be dedicated to working for one particular customer like Walmart or Home Depot and they will only haul freight for that customer. You'll often hear drivers say something like, "I'm on the Walmart dedicated account."
I applied with them.. The nearest school to me would be Atlanta. I live in Panama City, FL. They no longer have one in Florida.
Just an addendum. CR England has a school in Florida. I'm not sure about anybody else.
They rejected me because of where I live. Mr. Aquila told me from the beginning that this might happen.
In Celadon's case, they said I needed to live in Ocala, FL or points north of that. Ocala is within 3 hours of St. Petersburg. I could've driven there.
In Knight's case, they told me they're not doing CDL training anymore and I need to go to Roadmasters Truck Driving School in Tampa, FL. They hire from that school. Which means I'd have to get financing from Roadmasters' lender and go on a tuition reimbursement plan of some kind.
Roehl said they're not currently hiring for their CDL training program out of Florida. I would have to move to Alabama because that's where their closest school to me is.
The last school on my list is PAM Transport, and they're forced team for the first 6 months after training.
What I need to know right now is, have any of you gone through Roadmasters and got hired by a known, reputable company? What was your experience with them like?
RAIDER EXPRESS is an ALL AUTOMATIC FLEET And they have their own CDL A School, no cost to you. Free Room and Board. http://www.raiderexpress.com
Also Melton Truck Lines, they train you on standard/manual trucks but they have Automatic....after training you can request an Automatic. (You must have your CDL A, before applying and have attended a Certified CDL A School or have 3 months of OTR) Their whole Fleet is moving to Automatics, because a better fuel milage they are getting. https://meltontruck.com/cdlTruckDriverJobs/DriverJobs/index.php
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
Electric APUs have started gaining acceptance. These electric APUs use battery packs instead of the diesel engine on traditional APUs as a source of power. The APU's battery pack is charged when the truck is in motion. When the truck is idle, the stored energy in the battery pack is then used to power an air conditioner, heater, and other devices

I will do that. Thank you!
Dm:
Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager
The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.
