Hi, does anyone have any experience with CCCTI in Lenoir NC. Looking at night or weekend class. I already have Class A CDL but, no experience. tarheel59

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

I did their full time daily class. Great program. Great instructors. At 1900 dollars for the full 10 week course its a great deal. The refresher course is around $350.

Joan is the lead instructor and she is very serious about safety. Little lady that if you saw here on the street you would never in a million years think drove for over 30 years.

I can't say enough good things about that school. Just like anything else though, you will get out of it what you put in.

Are you going for a refresher course or the full curriculum?

Thanks Chris, It's looking like i will have to take full course. Companies i have talked to say refresher want do it. Too long since graduation from Sage Truck Driving School at Isothermal Community College. Which is no longer at Isothermal. It is now part of CCCTI. Still weighing company sponsored or private or community college. tarheel59
