You're experience in your head will help you, but from the DMV point of view, you'll probably need to test on everything again.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

DMV:

Department of Motor Vehicles, Bureau of Motor Vehicles

The state agency that handles everything related to your driver's licences, including testing, issuance, transfers, and revocation.

That is kind of what I had expected. Thank you

I had hoped my X endorsement would carry over. But it makes sense that they are two different licenses.

Some things should carry over per the Feds, but each State does what it wants. I've driven combination vehicals so long that when I get into a Straight truck, I get screwed up ,LOL, study here and learn the new Backing skills, you'll do fine

That makes sense there is so many differences. Would it be better for me to go through a school or just pay to test up? I have been driving for three years on several different trucks. I worked in the drilling field and drove in the mines but if that won't actually equate to experience wouldn't be better for me to basically start over?

Yeah, you'll be starting over. Class A companies normally don't consider Class B trucks as driving experience. Unless you already have a job lined up somewhere that said they'll take you once you upgrade you're going to be better off going through school.

Just transfered my Class B(passenger with air brakes) from Colorado to Mississippi. I asked when it comes time to test for class A permit, what tests do I have to take? DMV told me all I have to take is Combination and whatever extra endorsements I want. I do not have to take general, passenger, and air brakes. This is going to be easy!
