While I've been seeing a lot more of the Swift Refrigerated trailers too, I don't think they're doing away with Central immediately. We still have a ton of Central branded trailers and even trucks. They'll most likely slowly be phased out as they age. A few weeks ago I pulled an M.S. Carriers trailer, and they merged in 2001. And yes, it was a piece of work.

Wow! MS Carriers.......the white pony........they were huge at one time. I worked for US Xpress for about 6 years and they used to buy companies like crazy all the time. It was always a long, slow process of integrating the new companies. Like C.S. said they would normally phase out the old equipment and slowly move everything over to the US Xpress branding.

As we all know, Swift officially took over ownership and operation of Central Refrigerated almost a year and a half ago. Swift has had quite a number of reefers in their fleet for a long time, but they've all been branded as simply Swift. However, in the last couple of weeks, I've been seeing more and more Swift reefers branded as Swift Refrigerated. This leads me to wonder if they're about to do away with the duality of running two differently named fleets.
Anybody know if this is something in the works? My curiosity is getting the better of me.
