Allen, put your game face on and get in there planning to knock one out of the park.
These company sponsored programs are really, to my way of thinking, sort of like trying out for a team. They don't so much want to see how good you are, but how hard you will work at learning, and how quickly you can pick up something that is totally new to you. They know you are a total newbie with no experience, so they are not looking to be impressed by your skills, but rather your good attitude and your willingness to jump right in there with confidence.
They are also trying to ascertain your work ethic, and character. C.R. England is known for being a little more lenient on their hiring standards, and therefore there will be a lot of knuckleheads there that will not make it through the training program. If you are observant, then you will be able to pick-up on the riff-raff in the crowd, and I would advise you to avoid them like the plague. If you hang with the wrong folks, the instructors may just label you as one of that crowd that is not going to make it - and trust me those instructors are observing much more than you realize.
I've met a lot of drivers who got there start at C.R. England. Despite all the negative stuff on-line about them, they have a really good training program. You will get some good training there. Their pay is on the low end of the scale, but it is a good place to get your introduction to the real world of truck driving.
