Many truck drivers are using maps in order to find directions or GPS. I heard that Rand McNally tablet is pretty expensive. But, there always is a way. Don't you try to browse any other applications on your phone? Some of them are free.
If he doesn't have a smart phone, he doesn't have other applications on his phone that weren't preloaded by the company he bought it from.
Beth, thanks for explanation. What about you? How do you usually find right driver's directions?

I'm not a driver yet, just somebody who's growled at way too many phones doing strange things...like whistling like a tea kettle.

Would you like to tell me more?)

I used to do tech support/customer service for Cingular/AT&T. I'm also the sort of person who has a magnetic personality and shorts out certain electronics. They just start doing weird things. One of my phones was replaced after it restarted while it was already restarting. We will get me a new phone before I go OTR so it'll last longer (hopefully) and I'll take a crappy old phone with me with an extra SIM card so I can at least make it to a store if I have issues.
I wonder if I can find the kid in Montana whosee dad said he owes me a steak dinner for fixing the $1500 data overage on their bill...
(Sorry for derailing the thread)
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
