This website has a list of trucking companies that allow pets so check that out.
Just like at the house, the answers to these questions depend on your pet.
Recently Patrick asked about cats here. I've seen dogs of all sizes get out of trucks at truck stops.
But the big dog here is your company. Swift does not allow pets as ride-alongs. Other companies will want a damage or cleaning deposit - sometimes several hundred dollars.
I think it all depends how your pet can handle vehicle rides.
My cats for instance hate car rides but they're not going to have much choice when I get into my own truck (once I start my career). They yowl for hat seems like forever but in reality after about 30-40 min or so they stop and go to sleep unless you mess with them in their carrier. I'm hoping they'll get used to living in a truck and it won't be a problem. During the night when I'm sleeping it won't be an issue as with cars they're fine. Honestly I think their biggest issue is being put in a cage... they hate that.
Ask me again around April and I'll let you know how it goes with them :D
My dog is going on the road with me. she has been by my side for 5 years now, not just going to giver her up. I'm everything to her and vise-versa. She's been all around the country with me already, so she will be good.

Hello want to know how is it like to have pets with you while being a driver? Is it worth it to have your pet with you? How are the pets when they are in the truck for so long? Do they wake you up during the night? Do most companies let you take pets with you?
