Good luck. How long did it take from the time you applied?
First application was put in on a Friday and I got a call on Monday. I applied too early to get a date in September.
Second application was put in last Friday and I was called less than an hour after. And if I hadn't had the employment verification snafu, I would have been approved Tuesday. Your mileage may vary. I have a clean driving and police record and no unemployment in almost 4 years so I'm pretty squeaky when it comes to background checks.
Good to see prime is on the ball with apps. nothing worse than applying for a job (or anything for that matter) and waiting weeks hopping your app wasn't just thrown in garbage.
I'll be picking up my next student from the 9/7 class. I'll probably be arriving to Springfield on the 10th or 11th. Hit me up if you want an interview with me.
Hey, Daniel, I sent a PM.
I agree Phox. I've had it happen a million times with apps and that's sad. I don't know if I just have an eager recruiter or maybe I'm just easy to put through a system or what but, I love when someone's on the ball to get me going when I'm also ready to get going.
I'm heading up there on monday the 24th for class on the 25th! good luck!
I applied there, and had to call them to talk with anyone. Having been a touring musician... work isn't always verifiable. I have some 1099's here and there over the years. But they don't look that good when you see less than $3k on each year. But I made a lot more than that... Lets just say.. Cash is King to a musician when you are away from home and can't deposit checks into an ATM without being charged a fee. Plus when all expenses are being paid while you are on the road, your actual income can be less. When I don't have to pay for food or lodging or any consumables. (Sticks, Heads, ect.) I can make a lot "less", but still come out ahead. And when I was not on the road I was a Stay At Home Dad, and home schooled 3 children. For some reason they see that as "unemployed" even though I work harder at home, than I do when I am out working.
Good Luck with Prime. So far Swift is the only company that I have applied for that has called me back. Sorry to have hi-jacked your thread.
And now, back to your regularly scheduled programming.
It seems like Prime is pretty strict. Probably in an effort to minimize turnover. A friend got fired a month ago after holding a stable job for 6 years and they wouldn't even talk with him in detail. He'll also be going to Swift. Wherever you can fit yourself I guess! Get that one year in safely and maybe we'll all end up somewhere else or maybe the company that gave the chance will be home. Who knows?
Good luck, Mike! Let us know how it's going up there if you get time.

I officially got accepted today to Prime! I will be leaving on a 2D 14H bus ride on September 4th (same day I turn 25!) And getting to Springfield, Missouri on Sunday the 6th around midnight and I start school on the 8th Tuesday due to Labor Day. I am so estatic!
My only tip for applying. Have all of your w2s for the 3 years of verifiable work experience. I had one company wanting to charge to verify my employment dates and Prime won't pay for that. Luckily I had the W2s. I'll make a training journal when I'm actually there.
For now, I hope my excitement is palpable. I feel like I'm finally doing something worthwhile for my career and my life. And the days will be exhausting and long but, I am patient and willing to listen and learn and I will have tea for when I need a mental break.
