I'm not sure of Prime's reimbursement policy. Ask a recruiter. For me, driving my car, renting a car, or flying and waiting for reimbursements just wasn't an option I had.
The bus has been interesting. I've had this man staring at me for about a day now, quite openly staring. I figure it's because I look like a hippie or lesbian (short short hair, tie dye bandana, sandals, shorts, tank top.) Which is a normal look in Oregon where I'm from. And, I don't mean to say all lesbians or hippies look like me so no one get offended, I'm just trying to use a stereotype to get an image for people.
Anyways, I was actually worried I might be the victim of a hate crime at some point along this stop just from the way he kept looking at me. I've been sitting with a military vet in his 30s for about the same length of time but just switched to my own seat recently. So, I get back into the bus after a break stop and I'm relatively alone. This guy comes up and starts chatting and we have some awkward convo where he asks if the veteran is my boyfriend. I say no and then he asks me out. I was pretty surprised. I started laughing at myself after he left.
At least I'm not lacking interesting things. I still haven't seen an armadillo dead or alive. Where my armored mammals at?
I'm currently about an hour from Oklahoma City.
I completely forgot about the time shift. I should be hitting the Springmo bus station around 11:20 PM and I'm supposed to call Prime security to arrange pick up. I just want a cool shower and bed. I don't care if I have a roommate already even, as long as they don't block the shower.
Does Prime offer any alternatives to the "Dirty Dog" such as a plane ticket or a rental car to get to orientation?
Yes they do. They will pay up to the same as they would have for the bus ticket. Anything above that cost is on you.

I arrived at Campus Inn earlier today. I, too will be starting orientation on Tuesday the 8th. Personally, I packed more than I wished to attempt to bring on Greyhound and I wasn't too fond of sharing my personal space with a bus full of questionable individuals all the way from ATL. So, I drove here in my personal vehicle.
My recruiter told me that Prime would reimburse fuel costs at $0.10/mile. That'll cover ~1/2 of my overall fuel cost. I'm certainly not complaining as I'm confident I've made the right choice. :)

If you have a hard time with getting Prime to pick you up when you arrive, you could always PM me and I'd be happy to provide a ride. I saw the station when driving in & its no more than 5 min from the hotel. Just let me know! Good luck
Tulsa Oklahoma has been something else. It's hot and everyone wants to complain and argue. These greyhound drivers have a hard enough job. We're late leaving and our bus is completely full to the brim. I'll be glad when it's over. My knees are still touching the back of the seat.
Sit down and shut up really applies here. You want to get going and you don't want to be fighting with your driver.
Creeper guy grabbed my leg at random. Ladies, get a thick skin now. I'm not reporting this because I am not going to delay my trip dealing with an overworked police department just because someone grabbed my leg. If he escalated it then it would be an issue. You have to decide for yourself what you'll put up with. A stranger I'll never see again squeezing my calf is nothing in the scheme of things right now. To someone else this might be cause for uproar. I've dealt with worse personally.
I ran into someone else heading my way. And Jonathan said he's already there so, that's cool.
Some of the most conflicting Prime info I get is regarding the physical. I feel like there's some NDA or something. I guess I'll just have to get detailed myself if there isn't some sort of "confuse new driver's clause."
I look so forward to being there. I've never been in a big rig or even very close to one and I'm still in awe watching people drive them.

I'm right there with you. Just wait until you get to Campus Inn! The parking lot is chock full of Prime trucks. More than I counted on my entire trip here, for sure.

I haven't seen a lot of Prime trucks. The elusive Prime drivers must be running too hard to catch. I've definitely seen more Swift than anyone else. I did see one Prime tanker which was neat.
O no you'll see and pass em lol doing 56 mph lol... Sorry primers

I flew to Springfield for Prime for the 8/31 class. They will reimburse what they would have paid for a bus ticket for you to get here. For me this was well worth the extra bucks. No cool stories to tell, but it was 2.5 hrs versus 23 hrs on the dog. LOL.

I cant speak for Prime..,When I started at Crete, I drove two hours to orientation and was reimbursed for gas. I also left my car at the terminal for the full 8 weeks of training. I continued to leave my car parked there after I went solo also.
Terminal:
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
